history

The village was created in the 16th century by the prince-bishop's fief Wildschütz - probably on the site of an extinct village - and named after a locator Vojtěch. The first documentary mention was made in 1567 as the property of Seyfried von Promnitz . A trade route led through the village to the Gersdorfer Pass and the County of Glatz . Since the end of the 18th century Voigtsdorf formed a cadastral community together with Neudörfel . In 1812 the place got its own school, in which the children from Gränzgrund and Neudörfel were also taught.

In 1836 the village of Voigtsdorf , located in a basin, consisted of 41 houses in which 278 German-speaking people lived. The main sources of income were agriculture, daily wages and various trades. There was a school, a grinding mill and an oil press in the village. The place of parish and court was Wildschütz. Until the middle of the 19th century Voigtsdorf remained subject to the Wildschütz rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Woitzdorf / Vojtovice 1849 a district of the municipality poacher in the judicial district Jauernig . From 1869 the village belonged to the Freiwaldau district. At that time Woitzdorf (with Neudörfel ) had 345 inhabitants and consisted of 61 houses. In 1900 226 people lived in the 45 houses of Woitzdorf . In the 1921 census, 226 people, including 222 Germans, lived in the 46 houses in the village. In 1930 Woitzdorf (including Neudörfel ) had 276 German-speaking residents - 221 in Woitzdorf and 55 in Neudörfel and consisted of 60 houses. After the Munich Agreement , the village was assigned to the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the Freiwaldau district until 1945 . After the end of the Second World War Vojtovice came back to Czechoslovakia; most of the German-speaking residents were expelled in 1945/46 . In 1950 there were only 149 people living in the 52 houses in Vojtovice (including Nová Véska ). The abandoned houses were demolished in the 1950s. During the territorial reform of 1960, the Okres Jeseník was abolished and Vojtovice was incorporated into the Okres Šumperk . Nová Véska was abolished as a district at this time and assigned to the district Vojtovice. Between 1985 and 1990 the village was incorporated into Javorník . In 1991 the district consisted of 15 houses with 35 inhabitants, 11 of which were on Vojtovice and four uninhabited on Nová Véska. Since 1996 Vojtovice belongs to the Okres Jeseník again. In the 2001 census there were 42 people living in the 15 houses in Vojtovice (including Nová Véska ). Today the district consists of a total of 27 houses.
