history

The Neudörfel settlement was created around 1760 by the Lords of Maltitz on the southern border of the prince-bishop's lordship of Wildschütz , where a trade route led from Woitzdorf through the Brettgrund to the Gersdorfer Pass and into the county of Glatz . The settlers were loggers and shepherds. Since the end of the 18th century, Neudörfel and Woitzdorf formed a cadastral community.

In 1836, the village of Neudörfel , located in the rocky valley floor, consisted of 17 scattered poor houses in which 117 German-speaking people lived. The main sources of income were barren agriculture and daily wages. The school was in Woitzdorf. The place of parish and court was Wildschütz. Until the middle of the 19th century Neudörfel remained subject to the Wildschütz rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial Neudörfl formed a district of the Wildschütz community in the Jauernig judicial district from 1849 . From 1869 the village belonged to the Freiwaldau district. The Czech place name Nová Ves was introduced at the end of the 19th century, in 1924 it was changed to Nová Véska . In 1900 76 people lived in the 17 houses of Neudörfel . In the 1921 census, 56 people, 55 of whom were Germans, lived in the village's 16 houses. In 1930 Neudörfel had 55 German-speaking residents and consisted of 15 houses. After the Munich Agreement , the village was assigned to the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the Freiwaldau district until 1945 . After the end of the Second World War, Nová Véska came back to Czechoslovakia; most of the German-speaking residents were expelled in 1945/46 . The repopulation of the remote place was only possible to a limited extent. The abandoned houses were demolished in the 1950s. During the territorial reform of 1960 the Okres Jeseník was abolished and the place was incorporated into the Okres Šumperk . Nová Véska was abolished as a district of Vlčice at this time and assigned to the district Vojtovice. Between 1985 and 1990 the village was incorporated into Javorník . In 1991 Nová Véska consisted of four uninhabited houses. Since 1996 Nová Véska has been part of the Okres Jeseník again. The settlement today consists of a few chalets around a keeper's house.
