The Okres Jeseník (German district Freiwaldau ) is a regional authority in Olomoucký kraj in the Czech Republic . The Okresy were roughly comparable with the districts in Germany, the district administrations were dissolved on December 31, 2002.

The district is located in the northernmost part of Moravia on the border with Poland in Moravian-Silesia and includes the northern Jeseníky Mountains and the Reichenstein Mountains . In Okres Jeseník, 38,330 people live on 719 km² (as of January 1, 2019) in 24 municipalities (Obec) with 56 districts (část obcí). The Jesenicko region consists of four micro-regions. In 1996 the town of Zlaté Hory was spun off from the Okres Bruntál and has been part of the Okres Jeseník ever since.

About half of the district belongs to the Jeseníky nature reserve with the highest mountain Praděd and many famous ski regions such as Ramzová and Ostružná .
