Hradec-Nová Ves (German Gröditz-Neudorf ) is a municipality in Olomoucký kraj in the Czech Republic . The place is located at 364 m above sea level. M. in the Biela Valley , twelve kilometers northeast of the district town of Jeseník and halfway to Głuchołazy . There is a border crossing to Poland in the neighboring village of Mikulovice .
history
The place was first mentioned in 1351. The name Gröditz was derived from the Polish grodzič (protect, small fortress). Neudorf was created in 1685 by dividing one of the Niklasdorfer Höfe. This farm was uneconomical and was therefore divided on the instructions of the property administration of the diocese of Breslau . In 1848 both communities were united. At that time mainly Germans lived there. On December 1, 1930, the community of Gröditz had 931 inhabitants, on May 17, 1939 there were 919 and on May 22, 1947 there were 537 inhabitants.
After the Munich Agreement , the place was added to the German Empire and until 1945 belonged to the Freiwaldau district . The Germans were expropriated and driven out in 1945 .
