The village was first mentioned in 1266 in connection with a country vogt and his court. The spelling Cobila is documented for the year 1284 . At the end of the 13th century, Wroclaw Bishop Thomas II appropriated Jungferndorf and incorporated it into his spiritual principality of Neisse . In 1310 Kobula consisted of 34 Hufen and a Scholtisei with three Hufen, a tavern and a mill with two wheels. In 1425 it was called Cobula siue Junkfrawendorf . In the 16th century, glass was made in the place, next to it there were two mills, a brewery and a paper mill. In 1570 the fortress was converted into a castle. In 1579 the village was owned by Nikolaus Nimicz, who was captain of the episcopal castle Johannesberg . In 1619 Jungferndorf belonged to Johann Franz von Troilo . The last owners were the barons of Skal.

As a result of the First Silesian War , Silesia and with it the Principality of Neisse was divided in 1742. Jungferndorf remained with the southern part of the diocese near Bohemia and now belonged to Austrian Silesia .

On December 1, 1930, the community Jungferndorf had 984 inhabitants, on May 17, 1939 there were 971 and on May 22, 1947 there were 457 inhabitants. After the Munich Agreement , the place was added to the German Empire and until 1945 belonged to the Freiwaldau district . The Germans were expropriated and driven out in 1945 . From 1976 to 2001 Kobylá was incorporated into Žulová . It was not until 1978 that it was separated from the Archdiocese of Breslau and assigned to the Archdiocese of Olomouc .
