The railway line Lipová Lázně – Bernartice u Javorníka is a railway connection in the Czech Republic , which was originally built and operated by the kk Staatsbahnen (kkStB) as a local railway . It branches off in Lipová-lázně ( Niederlindewiese ) from the Hanušovice – Głuchołazy railway line and leads via Velká Kraš ( Groß Krosse ) to the border in Bernartice u Javorníka ( Barzdorf ). There was a connection to Otmuchów ( Ottmachau ) until 1945 .

According to a decree of the Czech government, the line has been classified as a regional railway ("regionální dráha") since December 20, 1995.

history

In the concession document for the Hannsdorf – Ziegenhals local railway issued on March 5, 1885 , the Austrian Local Railway Company (ÖLEG) was obliged to build a branch line to Barzdorf if the state administration so required. The interim nationalization of the ÖLEG prevented this project.

On November 1, 1893, the Prussian State Railroad put its Ottmachau – Heinersdorf line into operation. As a result, the Austrian state built the Niederlindewiese-Reichs border line next to Barzdorf on its own. The line was opened on July 2, 1896.

After the First World War, the line came to the newly founded Czechoslovak State Railways ČSD. In 1919 the quarry company H. Kulka built a 2.8 km long private towing railway from Friedeberg to Schwarzwasser , which later received a second loading point ( Haspelberg ). After the bankruptcy of the H. Kulka company , the cable car was offered to ČSD, which it did not take over for financial reasons. At the time, it was planned to convert it to a public route and expand it to Groß Kunzendorf (Velké Kunětice).

After the Sudetenland was annexed to Germany in autumn 1938, the line came to the Deutsche Reichsbahn , Reichsbahndirektion Opole . In the Reich course book, the connection was now part of KBS 151x Ottmachau – Barzdorf – Jauernig / Nieder Lindewiese . After the end of the Second World War , the route was completely returned to the ČSD. Cross-border traffic to the now Polish-administered Silesia was no longer started after 1945. The PKP operated the Dziewiętlice –Otmuchów line until 1961, until 1977 it was dismantled.

The siding to Černá Voda was shortened in 1966 and ended at the Haspelberk loading point . It was last used in 1974.

On January 1, 1993, the line was transferred to the newly founded České dráhy (ČD) in the course of the dissolution of Czechoslovakia . Since 2003 it has been part of the network of the state infrastructure operator Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC).

Today, the Lipová-lázně – Bernartice u Javorníka line is operated as a unit together with the connecting line to Javorník . Passenger trains run every two hours with repeater trips on weekdays. Today the route is only of minor importance in freight traffic.
