The railway line Bernartice u Javorníka – Javorník ve Slezsku is a regional railway connection in the Czech Republic , which was originally built and operated as a local railway by the kk Staatsbahnen (kkStB) . It branches off in Bernartice u Javorníka ( Barzdorf ) from the Lipová Lázně – Bernartice u Javorníka (–Dziewiętlice) railway line and leads to Javorník ( Jauernig ).

According to a decree of the Czech government, the line has been classified as a regional railway ("regionální dráha") since December 20, 1995.

history

Jauernig lay in one of the most remote corners of the former Austrian Silesia . Traditionally, there were therefore very close relationships with the Prussian-Silesian region, which was only a few kilometers away. The Schloss Johannisberg in Jauernig was over two hundred years (until 1945) the summer residence of the Wroclaw bishops .

After the opening of the cross-border line Niederlindewiese – Barzdorf (–Ottmachau), a short branch line to Jauernig was planned. It was built as a state local railway, which opened on August 6, 1896. It was initially operated by the kkStB, and after the First World War the newly founded Czechoslovak State Railways ČSD.

After the Sudetenland was annexed to Germany in autumn 1938, the line came to the Deutsche Reichsbahn , Reichsbahndirektion Opole . In the Reich course book, the connection was now part of KBS 151x Ottmachau – Barzdorf – Jauernig / Nieder Lindewiese . After the end of the Second World War , the route was completely returned to the ČSD.

On January 1, 1993, the line was transferred to the newly founded České dráhy (ČD) in the course of the dissolution of Czechoslovakia . Since 2003 it has been part of the network of the state infrastructure operator Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC).

Today the Bernartice u Javorníka – Javorník ve Slezsku line is operated as a unit together with the connecting line from Lipová-lázně . Passenger trains run every two hours with repeater trips on weekdays. Today the route is only of minor importance in freight traffic.
