history

During the reign of Emperor Josef II , the development of the regions of Silesia began, which remained after the wars for Silesia Austria-Hungary . This task was also given to the imperial administrator Rams , who, with the support of the Prince-Bishop of Breslau, began building new villages. In 1786 the community between Oberlindewiese ( Horní Lipová ) and Spornhau (Ostružná) was created, which was named after its founder Ramsau by amalgamating the name Rams and the name Aue. The settlers were freed from the rule of forced labor.

The settlers had the biggest problem with the water supply. There was no stream flowing through the village and they did not encounter any water when drilling a well. So they built a canal from Medvědí Příkop through the forest to the houses. The water supply was installed before World War II.

Although Ramsau was built in a geographically unfavorable location, there was further growth at the beginning of the 19th century. In 1836 32 houses with 173 inhabitants are mentioned, which were mainly dedicated to agriculture and forestry and operated a bleaching facility. Until the establishment of Czechoslovakia , the number of inhabitants remained stable. According to the population census from 1921, some Czech settlers also lived here.

Due to the regulation of compulsory schooling under the reign of Maria Theresa , a single-class school was set up in house No. 21 in 1811. In 1828 these 30 children visited. The new school building was built in 1890.

The railway between Hannsdorf and Ziegenhals was built between 1883 and 1888 . This also led over the 765 meters above sea level. M. lying Ramzovské Sedlo (Ramsauer Sattel). It was therefore also known as the Silesian Semmering Railway and thus connected Ramsau to the rail network.

From 1850 to 1960 Ramzová was a district of Horní Lipová (Oberlindewiese) and was then connected to Lipová-lázně and in 1976 it was reassigned to Branná . Ramzová has been part of the Ostružná municipality since 1990 and came to Okres Jeseník in 1996 . A cable car was built from Ramzová to the Šerák. In 1991 the place had 10 inhabitants. In 2001 the village consisted of five houses in which eleven people lived.
