To love you is the fourth studio album by German pop singer Roland Kaiser and was released by Hansa in 1981 .

The album was recorded in 1980 in the Hansa Tonstudio I. and produced by Thomas Meisel . It was released as LP and music cassette in July 1981. A CD version has been available since 1989.

It contains some of the singer's best-known and most successful songs and was Roland Kaiser's second album to hit the German album charts after the compilation album Santa Maria . There it rose to the top and positioned itself in the chart week from November 9th to November 15th. In total, the album was in the album charts for 36 weeks. The album was sold more than 500,000 times and was awarded a platinum record .

The album includes several songs that were also released as singles and were successful. Here were Checkmate already on the album Something of mine in 1979 and Santa Maria from 1980 available on the same album. The title track to love you and love me one last time was released as singles in 1981. Some of the songs are German-language cover versions of Italian songs, especially Santa Maria , which originally came from the Oliver Onions , Tears at the end of Amerigo Paolo Cassella and Amore Mio from El Pasador . The song Words That I Unfortunately Never Said was originally sung by Gunter Gabriel in 1975 , who also composed it.
