Norman Ascot
Norman Ascot (born June 18, 1941 in Berlin , actually Wolfgang Pliverits ) is a German singer, composer and music producer . He became known first as a founding member of the group Sunday and in 1978 as a producer of the group The Teens .
Life
After leaving school, Ascot learned the trade of a wholesaler and made music on the side. His parents already shared his enthusiasm for music: his mother was an opera singer, his father a music teacher. In 1963 Ascot founded his first music group, the "Gents", and in 1965 the "Singing Strings". In 1963 he recorded his first single "Annabell" as a singer under the pseudonym "Tom Schütt" .
Awards
Norman Ascot has received a number of awards in his 45-year career. Among other things, he received the gold + platinum record together with Roland Kaiser in 1986 for the LP "Dich zu liebe" with the title "Seven barrels of wine" , with Roger Whittaker and Silvia Gehrke the gold record in 1991 for the title "Seven Years, Seven Seas " . He also took third place in the 1991 German composers competition with the title "I am not a poet, not a poet" for or with Tom Astor .
