Hans Hass (born September 3, 1946 in Salzburg ; † June 20, 2009 in Munich ), mostly as Hans Hass jr. referred to, was an Austrian actor and pop singer .

life and work

He was the son of the diving pioneer Hans Hass and the actress Hannelore Schroth .

Between 1958 and 1963 Hass Jr. attended the private boarding school Louisenlund near Schleswig . He dropped out of school after leaving school and moved to Berlin to live with his grandmother Käthe Haack . In addition to a short acting training at the Südfunk Stuttgart , he also took dance and singing lessons.

Through the mediation of Heino Gaze , Hass jr. a record deal with Decca , and in 1965 Werner Müller recorded the first single with him. With the song about the English teacher "Miss Tippletown" Hass jr. his debut on the German hit market . Hans Hass made his first TV appearance with "Miss Tippletown" in the program "Schaufenster Deutschland".

"Miss Tippletown" was followed by other singles, but they were not sold. Hans Hass Jr. went on a theater tour as an actor with the play "Philomena Marturano". He also composed the music for a TV series and wrote the song "Love Is A Waiting Game" for Lord Knud from the band The Lords . He was also involved in various television shows and had a joint appearance with his mother Hannelore Schroth in Gisela Schlüter's "Zwischenmahlzeit" in 1966. In the summer of 1967 he played the leading role in the first beat opera "Robinson 2000" at the Theater des Westens in Berlin.

After his record contract with Decca ran out, he switched to the small label "Mondial".

Hate jr. pushed his film career. Breathless with love , Blackmoor's witch slayer , darling, don't be silly and Flight to Hell are some of the films in which he was in front of the camera in 1970/71. In the early 1970s he took part in some of his father's diving expeditions and can be seen in the resulting television films. He composed the film music for some of his father's films. He was also present on stage: in the play "Neapolitan Wedding", Hans Hass Jr. played. together with his mother Hannelore and her brother Carl Heinz Schroth .

In 1972 he released the single "Sentimental John" on "Polydor". However, it was not a commercial success. In contrast, his cover version of "American Pie": Hass jr. presented the song in the ZDF hit parade and was voted into the top five twice.

After several unsuccessful attempts in the hit industry, he finally retired from show business at the end of the 1970s, left Germany and from then on lived in Ibiza.

Hate jr. reoriented himself here and found interest in yoga, Indian philosophy and transcendent music. He composed and played music in the New Age style and explored the possibility of using this music for healing purposes. During this time, Hatred Jr. produced a series of ambient CDs at AQUARIUS Int'l Music AIM (distributed by ZYX Music ), Magic Ganja: Calming , Magic Ganja: Encouraging and Magic Mushroom: Strong , which converted his expanded states of consciousness from drug experiences into music. It was his concern to achieve these states without drugs.

At the end of the 1990s, Hass jr. on the development of new products and fun sport concepts and founded "Hans Hass Projektentwicklungsges.mbH" in Munich. One of his ideas was an automatic drive for divers called Aquaflying . He tried to have his idea protected by patents worldwide (patent application DE 199 51 779 A1). His last idea was for a “laser course installation for fun sports and wellness”, which he had developed in collaboration with the multimedia company LOBO electronic . (Offenlegungsschrift DE 10 2004 007 222 A1). However, the marketing of his ideas was not a success.

Hans Hass had been suffering from depression for a long time and was found hanged on June 28, 2009 in the basement of his Munich home.
