In 1915 she made her first film appearance. As an extremely versatile actress, she received numerous role offers and was able to continue her career after the silent film era. In 1943 she played Baroness Münchhausen in Münchhausen at the side of Hans Albers . She also succeeded in making the transition from young naive to that of wife and mother. Most recently, Käthe Haack, who continued to be successful as a theater actress in Berlin, was seen as an elegant older lady in television plays.

Important post-war roles at the theater were Mrs. Antrobus in We Got Away Again (1946, Hebbel-Theater), Gina Ekdal in Die Wildente (1948, Renaissance-Theater ), Mrs. Higgins in My Fair Lady (1963, tour with approx. 1500 Performances) and Luise Maske in Carl Sternheim's Der Snob (1966, Renaissance Theater). In addition, Haack took part in numerous tabloids . Guest appearances have taken her to Munich for the Kleine Komödie am Max II .

She was married to the actor Heinrich Schroth (1871-1945) since 1916 . Her daughter Hannelore Schroth (1922–1987) and her stepson Carl-Heinz Schroth (1902–1989) were also well-known actors.

Käthe Haack died in May 1986 at the age of 88 in Berlin. The burial took place in the state-owned cemetery Heerstraße in today's Berlin-Westend district . The daughter Hannelore Schroth was buried at her side the following year, as was her third marriage son, Christoph Kantapper Köster (1953–2012).
