Auf Wiedersehn am Bodensee is a German feature film by Hans Albin from 1956 .
action
Marianne has not had an easy life in her life so far. Her hotel came to the brink of ruin due to the reckless fault of the husband who was divorced from her. It took her three years of hard and self-sacrificing work to overcome the crisis. Even Vera, her five-year-old daughter, has put her in a home to achieve her goals. During this time she had no eye for men, which she also assumed from her sister Monika. And that's how it should stay. Never again should a man interfere in the affairs of the hotel. In any case, Marianne can finally inform her loyal employee, the porter Waldemar Schöberl and his wife Erna, that the Hotel Reisinger is free of debt again.
It's just not so easy with society without men. The fun-loving Monika secretly falls in love with the economics student Klaus. And Marianne's heart is suddenly subjected to a severe test. It is a new hotel guest who confuses them. Your former childhood friend Dr. Werner Bergmann, who once went abroad because of love that she did not return, has returned home. Marianne immediately realizes that she loves him and doesn't know how to react correctly. The pleasant hotel guests, the beautiful summer and the Lake Constance festival reinforce your renewed zest for life. But she does not want to comply with his urging and warning to take an active part in life again and to present herself to her daughter as a mother again. This leads to a dissatisfaction between the two and Werner decides to leave again.
On the night of the Lake Constance Festival, Marianne received an alarming message from Ms. Engelmann, the director of the children's home. Vera has disappeared to go to her mother, whom she always visited too seldom. Together with her playmate Nicki, Vera rowed across Lake Constance until they lost their strength. With the help of Dr. Bergmann can both be saved. The exciting experiences of that night changed Marianne's view. She realizes that a life for two, in this case even for three, is simply easier and more beautiful.
