Tracie Spencer
Tracie Spencer (born July 12, 1976 in Waterloo , Iowa ) is an American singer and actress .
life and work
Spencer became popular when she 1987 the American CBS - TV talent show Star Search won. The then 13-year-old convinced with a successful interpretation of the Whitney Houston hit How Will I Know . A short time later she signed a recording deal with Capitol Records and released her first album in 1988 under the title Tracie Spencer .
The singles Hide and Seek (# 32) and Symptoms of True Love (# 11) were among the Billboard Hot R & B / Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks. Symptoms of True Love , composed by the German team of authors Klarmann / Weber , reached the Billboard Hot 100 (38th place) as well as the German (24th place) and the English hit parade (100th place).
The album Make the Difference released in 1990 is the most successful to date. The resulting single This House reached number 3 in the US and 65 in England and was Spencer's biggest hit. This Time Make It Funky followed in 1991 at number 54 in the United States. The release Tender Kisses rose to number 2 in the US R&B charts and to number 42 in the US singles charts. From the same album, Love Me reached # 1 on the R&B charts and # 48 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Spencer was deeply committed to protecting children and becoming a positive role model for American youth, which earned them the Martin Luther King Christian Leadership Award . In the mid-1990s, Tracie Spencer starred in several television films and concentrated on her acting and modeling careers. B. for Tommy Hilfiger , Chanel and Dollhouse .
1999 Tracie Spencer had a musical comeback with the album Tracie . The single It's All About You (Not About Me) rose to number 18 in the US charts, and Still in My Heart climbed to number 88 in 2000. From 2004 to 2006, Tracie Spencer played various theater roles in Los Angeles.
