Marti Webb
Marti Webb (born January 13, 1944 in Cricklewood , London ) is an English musical singer .
biography
Her first leading role was in London in 1963 as Ann Pornick in Half a Sixpence .
She played Eva Perón in Evita in London in 1979 and appeared in Andrew Lloyd Webber's one-woman show Tell Me on a Sunday in 1980 . That same year, she had an international chart hit with Take That Look off Your Face , a song from the show. The album for the show was also very successful.
In the mid-1980s, Marti Webb made a chart comeback in England when she recorded a cover version of the Michael Jackson title Ben in memory of a boy who died of cancer whose story had previously been shown on television . Another success was her version of the theme song Always There from the British TV series Howards' Way , together with the Simon May Orchestra.
