Xanadu (band)
Xanadu was a four-piece German hit formation that released several singles between 1989 and 1992.
Career
The band became known for their two-fold participation in the German preliminary decision for the Grand Prix Eurovision de la Chanson (today Eurovision Song Contest). In 1989 it took second place with the title A Dream for this World , and in 1990 it repeated this placement with the title Paloma Blue . The tracks co-composed by Tony Hendrik are included on the 1990 album Paloma Blue .
The line-up of the band changed several times. The original line-up included David Brandes and Lyane Leigh , who both released solo records after leaving Xanadu, and Uwe Haselsteiner . A few years later, Brandes produced the dance act E-Rotic , which Lyane Leigh also lent her voice.
For the 30th anniversary in 2020, then front woman Lyane Leigh has re-recorded the single Ein Tag, Eine Nacht, Eine Hour . She first presented this song in May 2020 and released it as a single in August 2020.
