E-Rotic is a German dance floor project founded in 1994 by David Brandes and Lyane Leigh .

history

Foundation and successes (1994–1995)

In the summer of 1994, E-Rotic released the debut single Max Don't Have Sex with Your Ex and landed at number seven in the German single charts . The follow-up single Fred Come to Bed reached number three.

E-Rotic was represented on stage by singer Lyane Leigh (Liane Hegemann) and rapper Raz-Ma-Taz . The singles Max Don't Have Sex with Your Ex , Fred Come to Bed and Sex on the Phone as well as the debut album Sex Affairs were released with this line-up. In the fall of 1995, the single Willy use a Billy ... Boy was released with this line-up.

1995-2001

In 1995 Jeanette Christensen and Terence D'Arby were introduced as the new faces of E-Rotic. In the new line-up, the single Help Me Dr. Dick and released the album The Power of Sex . Only six months later, in the summer of 1996, D'Arby left the project. Ché Jouaner succeeded him.

Despite the change of staff on stage, she sang on the albums The Power of Sex (1996), Sexual Medness (1997), Thank You for the Music (1997), Kiss Me and Mambo No. Sex (both 1999), original singer Lyane Leigh continued to be the female lead vocals. As the successor to Leigh (as the singer of the female lead vocals), Lydia Madajewski , then only 19, was introduced in 1999 . She was only on stage from 2002.

E-Rotic was also supposed to be nominated for the Echo 1999 , but that didn't happen. Lyane Leigh stated a few years later that it was probably because the original singers were no longer on stage.

In 2000 E-Rotic took part in the German preliminary round for the Eurovision Song Contest 2000 with the song Queen of Light , but was eliminated in the preliminary round. They came in sixth place.

In the same year, Ché Jouaner left the project. From then on Christensen was alone because no successor was sought for him.

2001-2002

In May 2001, Jeanette Christensen also left the project after six years. Yasemin Baysal (previously singer of Das Modul ) became her successor. Ché Jouaner returned after leaving the project a year earlier. With this line-up, the singles King Kong and Billy Jive (with Willy's Wife) were released (both in 2001), as well as the albums Sexual Handling and Sex Generation (also both in 2001). In contrast to last year, the two singles and albums were rather unsuccessful.

Ché Jouaner and Yasemin Baysal were released from the project in 2002 because there had been criticism of their behavior during a performance.

Temporary end of E-Rotic (2002-2005)

As the successor to Jouaner and Baysal, the lead vocals, female since 1999, singer Lydia Madajewski and Robert Spehar were on stage.

In 2002, a new version of Max Don't Have Sex with Your Ex was recorded under this cast , which was released under the title Max Don't Have Sex with Your Ex (2003) .

In 2003 the album Cocktail E-Rotic followed , which contains many songs from 1994 to 1999. After the publication, things became quieter for E-Rotic, in 2005 the project was officially dissolved for the time being.

In 2014, E-Rotic made a comeback with original singer Lyane Leigh, rapper Stephen Appleton and original producer David Brandes. In 2015 James Giscombe joined them, who alternated with Appelton on stage. Icezone Music took over the management as well as the new productions of the band. The new single Video Starlet was released in 2016 and Mr Mister followed in 2018 . A new album and at least one other new single have been announced.

Others

The song Save Me , which was released in 1997, was released by Vanilla Ninja in 2005 as My Puzzle of Dreams on the album Blue Tattoo . In 2006 the melody was used again by Brandes; this time as Wake Me for the group Shanadoo .

In 2009 Lyane Leigh released a new version of the e- rotic hit Sex on the Phone 2009 under the name SEXAppeal .

E-Rotic magazine

E-Rotic Magazin was a program that existed from 1997 to 1998 on the Swiss TV station Star TV . As with music, this show was about love and intercourse. The show was moderated and produced by the then stage actress Jeanette Christensen .

Missing Heart

Missing Heart was a side project of E-Rotic. It had the same producers and the same singers ( Lyane Leigh , Lydia Pockaj ). Unlike E-Rotic, which is mostly about sexual intercourse, Missing Heart is about romance .

Due to the lack of success, this project was ended in 2002.
