history

After singer Lyane Leigh and producer David Brandes founded E-Rotic in 1994 , the first single Max Don't Have Sex with Your Ex was created . The single was written by Bernd Augener (aka John O'Flynn) together with David Brandes and Felix J. Gauder. The single was released on June 23, 1994. In addition, a 12 "or CD maxi was released with three remixes.

background

Max Don't Have Sex with Your Ex was sung by Lyane Leigh and rapped by David Brandes . The text is about the main character Max, who initially tells the story in first person form, has sex with both his girlfriend and his ex-girlfriend. In the chorus, however, he is asked in you-form not to do this because it makes his life too “complex”. The corresponding music video has a comic-book look. This was initially only intended to save costs, however it became a trademark of E-Rotic after its release.

The single was a great success for E-Rotic. Subsequently, work was carried out on the album Sex Affairs . Only the second single Fred Come to Bed was more successful for the project than Max Don't Have Sex with Your Ex .
