Bum bum is a song by the German band Trio from 1983, which is assigned to the Neue Deutsche Welle . Text and music are from Stephan Remmler and Kralle Krawinkel . The song reached number seven on the German single charts. An English version called Boom Boom has also been released. The cover of the single shows the cleavage of the Hamburg prostitute Domenica Niehoff , on which "BUM BUM" is written with a red pen.

In terms of content, the song is limited to three stanzas around the loose listing of situations that can trigger a "bum bum", e.g. B. it says in the second stanza

Only the six-minute maxi version of the song contains a fourth stanza that reports on the crash of a radioactive satellite.
Video
An elaborate video clip that was shot on the film set of a Mexican city in Spain was made for around DM 250,000 . The video shows Krawinkel as sheriff and trio drummer Behrens as a donkey-riding deputy who arrest Remmler together after he breaks through the floor with a bed with a prostitute (played by Domenica Niehoff). Remmler is then imprisoned. Domenica then appears in prison and takes the surprised Behrens with her.
In 1987 the video clip appeared on the VHS cassette Trio - The Video Singles and in 2003 in a restored version on the DVD The Best of Trio . The DVD also contains an English version of the video.
A few years later, Depeche Mode shot a video clip for their single Personal Jesus in the same setting . Since many of the camera positions were taken from the "Bum bum" video clip, the two videos are strikingly similar.
