Trio live im spring 82 is a live album by the German band Trio , which was originally only released on audio cassette in October 1982 .

background

The band Trio originally developed music for a live show, which could only be presented to a limited extent on a regular studio album. After the studio album " Trio " was released in 1981, the trio producer Klaus Voormann decided in early 1982 to record the band's live album. To this end, he had a total of three concerts recorded, of which the concert in Stuttgart's “Mausefalle” was selected for publication.

The fully recorded concert was about 80 minutes long. For publication, the recording was shortened to just under 60 minutes by cutting out some complete songs. In particular, the song "Broken Hearts For You And Me" has been shortened and the guitar solo has been removed.

In addition to the music by Trio, numerous bizarre and bizarre short stories can be heard on the live album, all of which were precisely rehearsed, but still seem spontaneous. Singer Stephan Remmler tells of a visit to the “Candy Bar” (actually a brothel , which is now called “Bei Ruth”), in which trio sat on three bar stools in front of three glasses of Bommerlunder and the barmaid “Conny” the band name “Trio” “Explained. Remmler also presented a rubber doll for “ Je t'aime… moi non plus ” by Serge Gainsbourg , which he pointed to the limited durability and recommended a cheaper beach ball as an alternative.

The live album was released in October 1982 at the same time as the single " Anna - Lassmichrein Lassmichraus " - but only on audio cassette, which led to the advertising slogan "The first live record that is only available on cassette". Nonetheless, billboards in 12 ″ format were produced, which were placed in the trio compartment in the record store to indicate the cassette.

In 1992 the album was subsequently released on CD . The CD version was only available for a short time and is now considered a rare collector's item.
