Peter, Sue & Marc
Peter, Sue & Marc are a Swiss music group from Bern , founded in 1968 , consisting of Peter Reber (* 1949 in Bern; vocals, piano, guitar), Sue Schell (* 1950 in New York, vocals) and Marc Dietrich (* 1948 in Bern , Vocals, guitar). Stylistically the group is difficult to classify, their songs combine elements of rock , pop , folk , country and chanson .
Career
In 1971 they took part in the Eurovision Song Contest for Switzerland for the first time . Her title Les illusions de nos vingt ans reached number 12. There was a successful collaboration between 1975 and 1981 with the songwriter Rolf Zuckowski . He wrote and produced her great successes. The compositions are by Peter Reber. The titles Djambo Djambo (took 4th place at the Eurovision Song Contest 1976 ), Cindy , 1977 (one of their greatest successes) and Charlie Chaplin (with whom they applied for Germany at the 1978 Eurovision Song Contest , but only 3rd place Preliminary decision).
In 1979 they again represented Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest and achieved 10th place with Trödler & Co. They were supported by the Pfuri, Gorps & Kniri group . In 1981 they represented Switzerland for the fourth time at the Eurovision Song Contest . This makes them the group that has taken part in this competition most frequently for a country. Their title Io senza te, which they also recorded in German, reached fourth place. Thus, they are also the only participants in the competition who entered their country in four different languages (1971 French; 1976 English; 1979 German; 1981 Italian).
Peter, Sue & Marc published their own composed songs on their own label PSM-Records; the logo was a three-leaf clover with the letters PSM on each leaf.
With the titles "Ich ohne dich" and "Fantasia" they made guest appearances in the ZDF hit parade in 1981 . Then Peter, Sue & Marc broke up, they were last seen on New Year's Eve 1981. While Peter Reber then continued to successfully write and record songs on his own, the other two musicians became quieter over the years.
Nevertheless, there have been four “reunions” since then: in 1986 in the program “Supertreffer”, in 2003 in a gala show for the 50th birthday of Swiss television (where they sang a beefed up version of Cindy ) and in 2007 in the program “ The greatest Swiss hits “Of Swiss television. Thanks to the latter appearance managed Io senza te , Birds Of Paradise and Cindy solely on the basis of the downloads to re-enter the official Swiss single charts of 11 November 2007. 2015 brought the musical Io Senza Te the catchy tunes of the trio again on stage. In 2016 they appeared with a medley of the greatest hits on the Swiss television program " Hello Again ".
