Marc Dietrich (* 1948 in Bern ), alias Cuco , actually Marcel Dietrich , is a Swiss singer . Until 1981 he was a member of the group Peter, Sue & Marc .

Life

Marc Dietrich met Peter Reber in his youth. Dietrich was a drummer and played with Reber in a beat band that performed at dance evenings in 1963 and 1964 in Bern's Matte district . Marc Dietrich met Sue Schell at a party in 1968 and later introduced her to Peter Reber. That was the beginning of the trio Peter, Sue & Marc . With this trio, Dietrich performed for Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1971, 1976, 1979 and 1981 . In 1981 the group disbanded.

In January 1987 Dietrich took part in the Swiss preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest . With Nostradamus sung in German , he achieved second place behind Carol Rich .

After Peter, Sue & Marc dissolved, Dietrich opened a wine shop in the old town of Bern . He later closed the business again in favor of a job as a property manager in a real estate company. In 2005 Dietrich suffered a heart attack. Later he also had problems with his health and had to undergo operations on his back several times. Due to a burn-out syndrome , he lost his job with the real estate company. Later, while he was unemployed, he voluntarily cleaned the streets of Bern and was later even employed by the city.

In 2012, director Mirco Vogelsang made it possible for Dietrich to play the role of regular Heiri in the musical "Alperose - The Musical" . In 2014 he played the soldier Wilhelm in the historical open-air play "1476". In 2019 he mimes the main character Chachelihannes in the Gotthelf production of the Moosegg open-air theater of the same name .
