Bohuslav Sobotka government
The Bohuslav Sobotka government was the government of the Czech Republic from January 29, 2014 to December 13, 2017 . The head of government, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka , was sworn in before the other members of the government on January 17th by President Miloš Zeman . The cabinet was formed after the 2013 parliamentary elections and consisted of 8 representatives from the social democratic ČSSD , 6 representatives from the populist ANO 2011 and 3 representatives from the Christian democratic KDU-ČSL .
On May 2, 2017, Prime Minister Sobotka announced the resignation of the government due to allegations of tax fraud against Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Andrej Babiš . Since President Zeman indicated that he would only accept Sobotka's resignation and not that of the entire government, Sobotka ultimately only had Babiš recalled, the government remained in office. After the regular elections in October of the same year, Babiš was appointed the new head of government in December.
