The Andrej Babiš government is the incumbent government of the Czech Republic .

The minority government between the parties ANO and ČSSD was sworn in by President Miloš Zeman on June 27, 2018 and then had to face a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives within 30 days . On July 12, 2018, after a long meeting, the government expressed its confidence in the government with 105 to 91 votes. 4 MPs did not take part in the vote. For the majority in the House of Representatives, the cabinet relies on the votes of the communist KSČM , which is now part of the government again for the first time since the Velvet Revolution , albeit indirectly.

The government followed the first cabinet of Andrej Babiš which had found no majority in the House. With the vote of confidence, a longer period of 264 days came to an end after the 2017 House of Representatives elections , during which a government was in office without the confidence of parliament.

The Foreign Ministry remained vacant when it was sworn in, as President Miloš Zeman refused to appoint Miroslav Poche , the candidate proposed by the Social Democrats and nominated by Prime Minister Babiš . The ČSSD chairman and new interior minister Jan Hamáček acted as head of the foreign ministry. Finally, in October 2018, the parties agreed on Tomáš Petříček as the new Foreign Minister.

After just a few days in office, Justice Minister Taťána Malá and Labor Minister Petr Krčál announced their resignation following allegations of plagiarism. On April 30, 2019 there was a triple change of minister at ANO. Marie Benešová's appointment as the new Minister of Justice followed the announcement by the public prosecutor that he would bring charges against Babiš because of his conflict of interests with regard to the subsidies for the Agrofert holding. This was followed by demonstrations against the government in several cities and finally a large rally on Prague's Letná level with 200,000 participants, according to the police. It was the largest political demonstration since the Velvet Revolution .

Immediately before the 30th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution , major protests against the government broke out again on November 16, 2019. Several hundred thousand people called for Andrej Babiš to resign.
