Government reshuffle in October 2019
On August 22, 2019, Félix Braz suffered a brief cardiac arrest that made emergency surgery necessary. After it was initially not foreseeable how long his recovery would take, Culture and Housing Minister Sam Tanson was temporarily transferred to his areas of competence as Minister of Justice on September 6th. Braz himself formally remained a member of the government as a minister with no portfolio. After it had become apparent that Braz would not be able to resume his official duties for a long time, the government was reshuffled on October 11th. Tanson became the new attorney general and retained her responsibility for culture. Henri Kox was appointed as the new Minister for Housing and Assistant Minister for Defense and Internal Security. In doing so, he supports François Bausch, who became the new vice-premier. Braz, however, left the government.
