Romain Schneider (born April 15, 1962 in Wiltz ) is a Luxembourg politician .
Romain Schneider has been a member of the social democratic LSAP since 1981 . At the municipal level, he was a member of the Wiltz municipality council from 1994 to 1999 . From 1999 to 2009 he was mayor of the municipality. At national level, he was first elected to the Luxembourg parliament in 2004. From 2004 to 2009 he was general secretary of his party. In 2009 he was re-elected to parliament and appointed Minister of Agriculture, Viticulture and Rural Development and Sport. He was also a delegated minister for the solidarity economy. He has been Minister of Sport since December 2013. He is also Minister for Social Security and Minister for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs in the Bettel-Schneider government .
Professionally, he was a civil servant at the Luxembourg Employment Agency (Adem).
