Claude Meisch (born November 27, 1971 in Pétange ) is a Luxembourg politician .

Career and professional activities

After Claude Meisch graduated from the 13th grade in general technical subjects at the secondary school Lycée technique Mathias Adam in Pétange, he studied at the University of Trier , where he graduated in 1998 as a business mathematician. From 1999 to 2013 he worked at Banque de Luxembourg . From 2005 to 2013, Claude Meisch was president of the inter-municipal association for the Princess Marie Astrid Hospital (Hôpital Princesse Marie-Astrid) in Niederkorn. From 2008 to 2013 he was a member of the board of directors of the Émile Mayrisch Hospital (Center hospitalier Émile Mayrisch - CHEM).

Political activities

Meisch began his political activity in 1999 when he was elected to the Luxembourg parliament for the first time for the Democratic Party (DP) . He was re-elected in 2004, 2009 and 2013. At the local level he was from 2000 to 2002 aldermen of the city of Differdange . From 2002 to 2013 he was finally mayor of the city.

From 2004 to 2013 he was President of the Democratic Party.
