Bankers since 1920: The Banque de Luxembourg emerged from two banks: the Luxembourg branch of Crédit Industriel d'Alsace et de Lorraine and Banque Mathieu Frères.
- 1920: The Banque d'Alsace et de Lorraine, predecessor of Crédit Industriel d'Alsace et de Lorraine (CIAL), opens a branch in Luxembourg.
- 1939: The Banque Mathieu Frères, which later became the Banque de Luxembourg, is founded.
- 1969: CIAL becomes the majority shareholder in Banque Mathieu Frères.
- 1977: Deutsche Bank Luxembourg SA becomes a shareholder in Banque Mathieu Frères; this changes its name to "Banque de Luxembourg".
- 1991: Banque de Luxembourg takes over CIAL's Luxembourg business.
- 1999: Banque de Luxembourg founds Fund-Market SA, an independent investment fund consultancy.
- 2002: As part of the restructuring of its activities, Deutsche Bank SA sells its stake (28.95%) to the CIC group; this will now become the owner of this participation through the Banque Fédérative du Crédit Mutuel (holding of the CIC group). The Banque de Luxembourg becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of the Crédit Mutuel-CIC group.
- 2010: The bank opens a branch in Belgium with two offices in Brussels and Arlon.
- 2012: The extension of the bank's headquarters on Boulevard Royal 14a in Luxembourg is inaugurated.
