Government of Santer-Poos I

The Santer-Poos I government was a Luxembourg coalition government that formed the Christian Social People's Party (CSV) with the Luxembourg Socialist Workers' Party (LSAP) after the chamber elections on June 17, 1984 . It was sworn in on July 20, 1984 and consisted of nine ministers and three state secretaries.

The government was in office until July 14, 1989 and was replaced by the Santer-Poos II government.

  • Jacques Poos (LSAP): Deputy Prime Minister; Foreign Minister, Minister for Foreign Trade and Cooperation; Minister for Economy and Small Business; Budget minister. From July 15, 1988 also Minister of Health.
  • Benny Berg (LSAP): Minister for Health and Social Security. He gave up the post of health minister on July 15, 1988; the ministry was taken over by Jacques Poos.
  • Robert Krieps (LSAP): Minister of Justice; Minister of Culture; Minister for the Environment
  • Fernand Boden (CSV): Minister of Education; Minister for Tourism
  • Jean Spautz (CSV): Minister of the Interior; Family minister; Minister for Social Housing
