Robert Krieps (born October 15, 1922 in Dalheim , † August 1, 1990 ) was a Luxembourg lawyer and politician of the LSAP .

During the Second World War he was imprisoned in the concentration camps in Hinzert , Natzweiler-Struthof and Dachau . After the war, he finished his law studies and began his political career. From 1952 to 1953 he was President of the Conference du Jeune Barreau du Luxembourg. He was a deputy in the Chamber and in the European Parliament . He was Minister of Justice from 1974 to 1979 and Minister of Justice, Minister of Culture and Environment Minister in the first Santer cabinet from 1984 to 1989 . He was President of the LSAP from 1980 to 1985. In 1989 he moved into the European Parliament . Until his death, in addition to his work as a member of parliament, he was also deputy chairman of the Committee on Youth, Culture, Education, the Media and Sport and of the delegation for relations with Switzerland .
