Samantha Tanson (born April 4, 1977 ) is a Luxembourg lawyer and politician. She has been Minister for Housing and Minister for Culture in the Bettel-Schneider-Braz government since December 5, 2018 .

Life

Sam Tanson studied at the Sorbonne in Paris and successfully completed her studies with a maîtrise in law and a diploma at the Institut d'études politiques .

She worked for the Luxembourg weekly newspaper d'Lëtzebuerger Land and from 2002 to 2005 a journalist for RTL Radio Lëtzebuerg . She has been working as a lawyer since 2005.

In 2009, Sam Tanson was one of two spokesmen for the youth organization of the Déi Gréng party ; From November 2009 to 2010 she was the party's spokesperson (together with Christian Goebel) and then became party president. She is also vice-president of the Grénger Stëftung party foundation (together with Claude Turmes ).

In the years 2011-2018 Tanson sat for the Greens in the city council of the city of Luxembourg, of which 2,013 to 2,017 the first juror, responsible for finance and mobility.

On June 7, 2015 she was appointed a member of the State Council, where she replaced Agnès Rausch . On April 14, 2018, she resigned from this position to replace her party colleague Claude Adam in parliament . She was re-elected in the elections to the Luxembourg Parliament in October 2018. However, she renounced her mandate in order to take up the post of Minister for Housing and Minister for Culture in the Bettel-Schneider-Braz government from December 5, 2018 .
