Claude Adam (born August 21, 1958 in Ettelbrück ) is a Luxembourg politician ( déi gréng ).

Life

He started his professional career as a teacher in Kehmen, Mersch and Bissen . After studying at the Heidelberg University of Education between 2000 and 2002, he was school inspector in Sassenheim (Luxembourg) and Pétange . Since 2008 he has lectured at the University of Luxembourg.

Because of his job, Claude Adam is primarily involved in politics in the field of education.

A second focus is foreign policy. Since 2014 he has represented the Greens in the Foreign Affairs Commission and is also a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the Chamber of Deputies.

Community politics

From 1999 to December 2004 Claude Adam was a Schöffe in Mersch and from January 2005 to the end of 2013 he was a member of the municipal council .

State politics

Claude Adam appeared on a list of the Greens for the first time in 1999, but narrowly missed the leap into the House of Representatives. In the elections on June 13, 2004, however, he got the third-most votes on the green list and thus a member of parliament. In 2009 he was immediately re-elected and in 2013, following the early elections on October 20 , after François Bausch became Minister , he 'slipped' into the Chambre des Députés .

He is Vice-President of the Commission de l'Enseignement supérieur, de la Recherche, des Médias, des Communications et de l'Espace in the Chambre des Députés.
