Mirek Topolánek I government
The Topolánek I government was the government of the Czech Republic from September 4, 2006 to January 9, 2007 after the 2006 parliamentary elections . From October 11, 2006 she acted provisionally, as she did not find the recognition of the House of Representatives .
background
President Václav Klaus commissioned the candidate of the ODS parliamentary group with the largest number of votes, Mirek Topolánek (81 members), to form a government on August 16, 2006. Together with the proposed coalition partners ( Christian Democrats and Greens ), she achieved exactly 50 percent of the mandates, creating a stalemate between the political parties Storage came into being. Because the left-wing parties ČSSD and KSČM together also accounted for 50 percent of the mandates.
Since the Social Democrats did not tolerate the proposed coalition government, Topolánek opted for a government made up of members of the ODS and non-party ministers, which was sworn in by the President on September 4, 2006.
But Topolánek could not find approval for this government either. The government was rejected by parliament on October 3, 2006. According to the constitution, Topolánek had to offer the president his resignation, which happened on October 11th. According to Article 62 (d), the cabinet remained in office on a provisional basis until January 9, 2007, when its second government was sworn in.
