Ship launch Stenhed

Ship launch Stenhed

The ship setting Stenhed (sometimes incorrectly referred to as the stone circle ) lies west of the towns of Gärsnäs and Simrishamn in the historic Swedish province of Skåne .

Not to be confused with Stenehed near Munkedal , where there is also a ship setting (a domar ring and a row of stones ).

The ship's settlement is about 50 m long, 14 m wide and consists of 30 uniformly high, but mostly lying, outer stones and three centrally located on the longitudinal axis.

The ship's setting is roughly in the middle between Ales stenar and the grave of Kivik . Like Ales stenar, it is directed from northwest to southeast and is said to have been used as a solar calendar.
