The row of stones

The Iron Age burial ground of Stenehed is about one kilometer southwest of Hällevadsholm, on both sides of Stenehedsvägen, in the Swedish municipality of Munkedal in Bohuslän . The cemetery should not be confused with the much larger ship settlement Stenhed in Skåne .

The burial mounds

The burial ground includes 45 prehistoric monuments, including low round mounds with a diameter of up to 20 meters, long mounds 10 meters long, a stone circle , a 10-meter-long, damaged ship setting (the stern stones and four other stones are preserved) and a row of stones .

The nine preserved menhirs in the row (earlier there were eleven or more) are ordered according to height, between 3.2 and 1.4 meters high and are two to six meters apart. Rows of building stones can also be found on other burial grounds in Bohuslän.
