Kathy Leander

Kathy Leander (* 24. May 1963 in all , the canton of Jura as Catherine Meyer  ) is a singer from Switzerland .

From the age of 13 she sang in the choir of the village church. In 1989 she moved to Geneva where she performed in nightclubs. In 1991 she got one of the best places at the Country Music Festival in Geneva. In 1992 she won the Europa Song Festival in Bordeaux .

She was a bank clerk in Geneva when she was selected by Swiss television to represent Switzerland in the 1996 Eurovision Song Contest . Her song Mon cœur l'aime (dt. 'My heart loves him') reached only 16th place with 23 participants with 22 points.

After her appearance in Oslo she worked again as a bank clerk in Geneva. In 2000 Catherine Leander , as she calls herself now, sang a duet with Enric Orlandi , namely the song Because I belong to you . In 2001 she recorded an album called Rêves à deux with the Alsatian singer Alan Ségal . It was particularly successful in Alsace.

In 2003 she came third in the talent show Merci, on vous écrira! Organized by TSR .

In February 2006 Leander released her first solo album called Je m'ennuie de vous .
