Furbaz

Furbaz ( Rhaeto-Romanic Lausbuben ) is a Swiss singing group and was a participant in the Eurovision Song Contest 1989 .

history

The group was founded in 1983 in the Disentis monastery in the canton of Graubünden and plays hit songs in Romansh . From 1987 the group tried three times to place in the Eurovision Song Contest. It succeeded in 1989, and the group performed in the city of Lausanne , as a year earlier Celine Dion brought the victory to Switzerland. Her hit Viver senza tei (English: Live without you ) landed on the 13th of 22 places. The title remains the only Eurovision contribution in Romansh to date.

For the albums Sentiments , Messadi da Nadal and Nadal - The big Christmas they each received a gold record in Switzerland .

After a long hiatus in the 1990s, the band reformed in 2004 and recorded a Christmas album. Two more followed, because the group focused more on Christmas music.
