Arlette Zola
Arlette Zola (born April 29, 1949 in Freiburg im Üechtland ), real name Arlette Jaquet , is a Swiss singer . Her stage name is derived from the name of her stepfather René Quazzola.
Life
Arlette Zola grew up in Freiburg in Üechtland. In her mother's restaurant De la Grand-Fontaine she entertained the guests by singing to the guitar. Her first record was financed by her stepfather, who also put her in touch with the music industry. So she got a record deal with the Parisian brand Disc AZ . At the end of 1966, the successful single Elles sont coquines was released .
The titles Deux garçons pour une fille, Le marin et la sirène and Je n'aime que vous followed in 1967, which were equally successful in the francophone region . Recordings were also made in Germany, but there were no big hits.
From 1970 Arlette Zola withdrew from the music business. After marrying in 1972, she and her husband ran a farm in the canton of Friborg for several years . With the help of the Geneva musician Alain Morisod , Arlette Zola returned to the music business and in 1982 represented Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Harrogate, England . With Morisod's composition Amour on t'aime she reached 3rd place. In 1998 she appeared again on television in French- speaking Switzerland and recorded a medley of her four greatest 1966 hits with Morrisod .
Today Arlette Zola lives in Freiburg im Üechtland and works in the hospitality industry. In April 2009 a CD was released with the original recordings of their old hits.
