Carole Vinci

Carole Vinci (born October 15, 1949 in Geneva ) is a Swiss singer.

Live and act

Carole Vinci grew up in Geneva and also studied here. She worked as a gymnastics teacher until the birth of her children. Since 1972 she has appeared regularly as a soloist or as a choir member. Already in 1976 Eh soleil! a little noticed single of hers. At the time she was called Carol Vinci. In 1977 she took part in the Swiss preliminary decision for the 1977 Eurovision Song Contest . With Dites-moi ce qu'est l'amour , she reached fourth place, which she shared with Piera Martell . In January 1978 she took part again in the preliminary round and this time was more lucky, she won. She represented Switzerland at the 1978 Eurovision Song Contest in Paris with her emotional chanson Vivre (German: life ), which reached ninth place with 65 points. She shared this place with the Spanish singer José Vélez , who also received 65 points for his title Bailemos un vals . The song was then published in a German version, Vivre, Vivre means life . A year later she released - again as Carol Vinci - the LP Rockin'Ly Yours . According to the book A Song Can Be A Bridge , Vinci is said to have taken over the management of a cheese dairy and returned to the music business in 1990. Beyond that, there is no further information about her career.
