Johann Kreuzer
Johann Kreuzer (born November 29, 1954 in Lanz ) is a German philosophy historian and university professor .
Life
Kreuzer studied philosophy , German literature and comparative religion at the University of Tübingen and the Free University of Berlin , where he received his doctorate in 1984 . From 1987 to 1992 he was a research assistant and then from 1992 to 1996 senior assistant in philosophy at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal . After substitute professorships at the Universities of Münster , Cologne and the Humboldt University of Berlin as well as a visiting professorship at the Charles University in Prague , Kreuzer was appointed to the professorship for the history of philosophy at the University of Oldenburg in 2002 . He is head of the Adorno Research Center and the Hannah Arendt Center there and has been a board member of the international Hölderlin Society since 2010 .
Focus
Johann Kreuzer's main research areas are the history and criticism of metaphysics from antiquity to the present, German idealism with a focus on Hölderlin , aesthetic theory and critical theory .
