The Hölderlin Society eV is an international literary society based in the Hölderlin Tower in Tübingen . Its aim is " to deepen the understanding of the work of Friedrich Hölderlin and to promote the research and presentation of his work, his life and his time".

It was originally founded in Tübingen in 1943 and took its current form in 1946/1947. On behalf of the city, she managed the museum in the Hölderlin Tower until 2017 with a permanent exhibition on Hölderlin's life, changing exhibitions of contemporary artists related to Hölderlin.

The society regularly organizes readings and readings by authors , lectures and concerts , occasionally seminars in cooperation with the University of Tübingen and every two years multi-day annual meetings in Tübingen and other cities with lectures and working groups. It works closely with the Hölderlin archive at the Württemberg State Library in Stuttgart , supports academic editions of Hölderlin's works and publishes a yearbook and other publications and series on Hölderlin research and reception.

The Hölderlin Society has almost 900 members all over the world. The president is the Oldenburg philosophy professor Johann Kreuzer, the managing director is Eva Ehrenfeld.
