Career

Johansson started playing football at BK Kendora . From there he moved to Landskrona BoIS in the second-class Division 2 Södra Götaland . With the club he reached at the end of the 1970 season as a season winner before Helsingborgs IF the promotion round, in which the team rose to the Allsvenskan as first after a win against Sandvikens IF and a draw against IFK Luleå and Skövde AIK . In the promotion round he appeared as a goal scorer.

In the Swedish elite series, Johansson immediately established himself as a regular goalscorer and led the team in the 1971 season with nine goals as third on the list of goalscorers to sixth place. In the summer of the following year he reached with Landskrona BoIS alongside Roger Karlsson , Claes Cronqvist , Torbjörn Lindström and Dan Brzokoupil the cup final against IFK Norrköping , the goals from Cronqvist and the two-goal Lindström by a 3: 2 win after extra time was decided and led to the first title win in the club's history. In the subsequent European Cup Winners' Cup in 1972/73 , the team failed despite a goal by Christer Lindgren after a 1-0 win and a 0-3 defeat in the first round at Rapid Bucharest .

In the following years, Johansson also placed himself at the top of the top scorer list. In the 1974 and 1976 seasons he achieved the best result in the club's history with the club as fourth. He set a personal record in 1974 with 16 goals this season. However, it was not until 1977 that national coach Georg Ericson took him into account for the first time in the national team. On June 15 of the year he made his debut in the 1: 2 defeat against the Danish national team at the side of Olle Nordin in the storm. At the next international match against Iceland on July 20, he scored the decisive goal in a 1-0 win.

In the course of Johansson's active career, the interest of several European clubs such as Hamburger SV , Grasshoppers Zurich , Fortuna Cologne , den Bosch , Twente Enschede and Royal Daring was reported, and he completed a trial training session at AZ'67 . Ultimately, there was no move abroad, so that he was one of the most successful goal scorers of the Allsvenskan in the 1970s. His 637 games, which he played in 17 seasons for Landskrona BoIS by the end of his career, represent a club record, and with 309 goals he is the second best goalscorer.

In 1997 Johansson took over the coaching position at his long-standing club, which has now played in the third-class division 2 Södra Götaland . After promotion to the second division at the end of the season, he was in office until 1999. Later he took over the coaching position at his hometown club BK Kendora .
