Anne-Karin

Anne-Karin (born March 29, 1948 in Elversberg, today Spiesen-Elversberg , Saarland ; actually Anne-Karin Mayer ) is a German pop singer . She was married to the daily announcer Jan Hofer , from whom she is now divorced.

Life

Anne-Karin was active in sports in her youth. a. she was the Saarland youth champion in the 100 meter run . After school, she studied sport in Saarbrücken and graduated as a qualified sports teacher.

She was discovered as a singer in the late 1960s. Her first single was released in 1969 by Trans-World-Records (TWR 14 284 AT) with the titles I want to wait until love comes for me and Alle Rosen der Welt. With Dream Melody for Two she had her first success in 1972 and her first appearance on the ZDF hit parade . In 1973 she took part in the German Schlager Competition and came in 3rd place with Dreh dich weiter, Ballerina . In 1974 she represented Germany at the Song Festival in Sopot , Poland and at the International Song Festival in Ljubljana , Yugoslavia (now Slovenia ). She continued to record German hits and sang in several languages ​​and in Saarland dialect. She also sang international folklore, chansons and children's songs.

From 1974 Anne-Karin worked as a radio presenter for Saarländischer Rundfunk . In 1983 she won first place at the international song festival in Malta . She later moved to Kiel and became a TV presenter for NDR . In 1984 she took part in the German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Nobody . She finished fifth out of twelve participants. In 2003 she recorded a new album.
