Lian Ross, real name Josephine Hiebel, (born December 8, 1962 in Hamburg , Germany ) is a disco and pop singer who had two hits in the German charts in the mid-1980s with Fantasy and It's Up to You .

biography

Josephine Hiebel started in 1981 at the age of 22 as a singer with the stage name Josy . She released four singles by 1984. With the decision to change this name, she landed her first chart success as Lian Ross with Fantasy in 1985 and thus reached number 22 in Germany. By 1989, 7 more singles had been released , but only It's Up to You reached a middle hit parade in the summer of 1986 .

In the 1990s she sang under the name Joy in the dance project Tears' n Joy, as Jobel for Exotica and in 1999 in the dance project 2 Eivissa . She continues to use her pseudonym Lian Ross to this day. In 2009 coverte Lian Ross entitled Young Hearts Run Free , which the 1976 original by Candi Staton came.

Josephine Hiebel sings in the choir (background) in some productions that Luis Rodriguez produces for other artists, such as B. in albums by Matthias Reim , NEA! , Mark Ashley , Oliver Lukas and Kristina Bach .
