K-Maro

K-Maro (* 31 January 1980 in Beirut , Lebanon , civic Cyril Kamar ) is a French-speaking R & B - singer , who is currently in Montréal , Canada alive.

Life

While fleeing political persecution in Lebanon , the von Kamar family moved to Paris shortly after his birth . In 1995 he moved to Montréal. There the Lebanese singer founded his first band, which was called LMDS (Les Messagers Du Son). With French-speaking hip-hop reached LMDS local charts .

After four years of working together, Kamar began to build a solo career. DJ Shortcut produced the album "I am à L'ancienne" for him. The first single Symphonie pour un Dingue reached number 1 in the Canadian charts, Le Clan Chill only number 4. In 2003 he founded his own label K-Pone inc . There he brought out the album La Good Life . With his first single Femme Like U , he also made his breakthrough in Europe . In July 2004 the single entered the Swiss charts and reached number 1 for six weeks in September . The single also made it into the charts of neighboring countries. In France, the single rose to number 2 in October 2004, and K-Maro reached the top ten in the German single charts in January 2005.

In late 2005, he released his third album, Million Dollar Boy . The French singer Shy'm was involved in the first single, Histoire de Luv . In 2006 he produced the album Platinum Remixes together with DJ Shortcut . The best songs of the last ten years can be found on it as remix versions . He took his former singing partner Vai to his label K-Pone inc. under contract and produced for him the album Ma Raison .

K-Maro released his first English-language album Perfect Stranger in October 2008 . He owns a clothing line called Balbec . The name is derived from the Lebanese city of Baalbek . At the beginning of 2010, four artists were under contract with Shy'm , Vai, Imposs and Ale Dee. On April 27, 2010 his fifth solo album 10/01 was released so far exclusively in Canada. The single Elektric was released in July 2009 and the single Music in December 2009 .
