Shy'm [ ʃaɪm ] (* 28. November 1985 in Trappes , Ile-de-France as Tamara Marthe ) is a French singer.

biography

The daughter of a metropolitan French mother and a father from the French overseas territory Martinique was born in 1985 in Trappes , southwest of Versailles . She started taking dance lessons in her childhood. She graduated at the age of 17.

In addition to her studies, she worked on some vocal recordings, which she sent to several major labels in Paris. At that time she was discovered by the French rapper K-Maro . After her discovery she was given her stage name Shy'm - a trunk word consisting of shy (shy) and Martinique (where her father comes from).

After she recorded her first album Mes Fantaisies in 2006, K-Maro gave her the chance to gain more publicity with an appearance on his album Million Dollar Boy . The song reached number four in the French single charts. The album has sold around 400,000 times so far; the most successful single is Victoire from 2006.

In 2011 she took part in the second season of the French edition of the dance show Dancing with the Stars and won. The album Agapé was released in April 2019 .
