Amel Bent
Amel Bent (born June 21, 1985 in Paris as Amel Bachir ) is a French singer.
biography
Amel Bent, daughter of a Moroccan woman and an Algerian woman, grew up in La Courneuve in the Paris suburbs. She has a half-sister, Mélissa , with whom she shares a passion for music and also sings, and a half-brother Ilies . As a teenager she decided to study psychology first. In 2004 she wanted to enroll in a faculty, but took part in the television program Nouvelle Star , the French version of Deutschland sucht den Superstar . Although she only finished third, her popularity allowed her to release her debut album Un jour d'été that same year , which she wrote with the well-known rapper Diam’s . The first single Ma philosophie landed at number 1 on the charts, where it lasted for six weeks and sold 500,000 times. The two subsequent singles Le droit à l'erreur and Ne retiens pas tes larmes also made it into the top 10. The album achieved platinum status.
A year later, the single Eye of the Tiger was released, a cover version of the hit band Survivor from 1982.
In 2007 Amel Bent released her second album À 20 ans , some of which was again produced and written by Diam's. She worked with Pascal Obispo and Lionel Florence on her first single, Nouveau Français . Charles Aznavour wrote the song Je reste seule for her .
A third album Où je vais and a single of the same name were released in late 2009. The second single on the album was the song Le mal de toi , produced by Gee Futuristic and X-plosive .
Délit mineur was released on November 28, 2011 , it is Amel Bent's fourth album. The album also features the duet Tu fermes les yeux , which she sings with her little half-sister Mélissa . In 2012 she took part in the third season of the dance show Danse avec les stars and reached second place.
In 2017 she coached the French edition of The Voice Kids (5th season) and will be coach again in 2019 for the sixth season.
The single Si on te demande is the first from their sixth album and was released on April 27, 2018.
On December 19, 2018, she and over 70 other celebrities followed the call of the Association Urgence Homophobie , which campaigns against homophobia. As part of the call, the single De l'amour , which Amel Bent is also involved in, will be released.
On April 3, 2019, Amel Bent announced her sixth album Demain for May 17, 2019. She also announced a concert tour with L'Autre Tour .
Private
Since June 15, 2015, she has been married to Patrick Antonelli, with whom she has two daughters: (Sofia * February 4, 2016 and Hana * October 17, 2017).
