Axel Bauer (musician)
Axel Bauer (born April 7, 1961 in Paris ) is a French singer and guitarist . Aroused fame by the titles Cargo and À ma place . The Cargo video was the first French-language title to be played on MTV.
life and work
Bauer had a supporting role in the film Querelle by Rainer Werner Fassbinder . After the film came out, its title Cargo was released. The video was directed by Jean-Baptiste Mondino in the style of Querelle and was a great success in France (700,000 copies were sold). The video is considered a classic of French-speaking music. Roger Daltrey released a cover of Cargo .
In 2001 Bauer released the track À ma place with the singer Zazie . The title was sold 430,000 times and reached a gold record .
