Annie Cordy
Annie Cordy (* 16th June 1928 in Brussels ) is a Belgian , mainly in France working actress and singer .
Life
Annie Cordy took part in singing competitions as a teenager and then appeared as a singer, first in her home country, and from 1950 also at the Lido in Paris. After winning the Prix Maurice Chevalier music competition, she quickly became a popular operetta actress and was also hired for music and singing films. As her career progressed, she also received character roles in more sophisticated films. Claude Chabrol gave her a role in the psychological thriller The Rift alongside Stéphane Audran and Jean-Pierre Cassel . In parallel to her cinematic work, which also extended to television series, Annie Cordy appeared regularly in music theater.
In the comical album Asterix with the Belgians , she is caricatured as a canteen (in the original Nicotine ), the wife of the Belgian chief Stellartoix .
