Jean-Pierre Cassel (born October 27, 1932 as Jean-Pierre Crochon in Paris , † April 19, 2007 ibid) was a French actor .

life and career

As the son of a doctor, he first attended the Cours Simon drama school in Paris and performed at the Théâtre National Populaire and in cabaret . Gene Kelly discovered him as a good dancer in a nightclub and gave him a role in Street of Happiness in 1956 . In comedies of the Nouvelle Vague , Cassel was convincing as a humorous sex symbol from the early 1960s. He was the preferred hero of director Philippe de Broca . From 1966 to 1974 Cassel was chairman of the French actors' union .

Sabine Cassel-Lanfranchi left Cassel because of the choreographer Michael Bennet .
